These two little love birds need a home. They are not only kissing, but when oriented the right way, they are also singing out a duet. They can also store small items, such as pens, pencils or reading glasses.
This set was made on the potter's wheel with high fire stoneware. The term for this type of pot is "Lidded closed form," but I prefer the terms "Chop Stick Lid" or even better "Yo-Yo Pot."
The rustic appearance is helped by using glazes which react in an unpredictable manner in the final firing. The green glaze is Oribe and the beige colored glaze is a Shino.
Each piece is 10 1/2 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches in diameter. Plese note, one of the figures is slightly smaller.
