Gay Greek God Series - Heracles

This piece is part of a series i have been interested in doing for a long time. The series commemorates Greek mythological stories about male/male love.

This is Heracles. He is noted to have had several male lovers. My favorite story is Hylas, who was Heracles' companion on the Argo. Nymphs, taken by Hylas's beauty, kidnapped him and dragged him to their watery home. Heracles searched for years and could never find him. In one story, Hylas attempted to call out to Heracles, but the nymphs covered his mouth to keep him from speaking.

Heracles is depicted here wearing the skin of the Nemean lion.

This item is 6.5 inches high, and 7 inches wide at its' widest point. The bowl is approximately 5.5 inches in diameter and 3.25 inches deep.
